I am guessing custom CPU doesn't mean custom CPU Core design but custom CPU package.
The Current ARM C1-Ultra or Cortex X930 / Cortex X6 as previously known is getting 3500 GB6 at 4.2Ghz. So ARM is now with 10% range of Apple's A18 Pro. I dont have the exact die size and cache size but I wouldn't be surprised if they are similar when ARM have similar cache reserve. Meaning the Pref aspect of Apple is not mostly gone.
